What customers say about "Size & Weight"
Milwaukee 6390-21
  • I owned an older model of this saw and it was stolen. I read all the negative reviews, ordered this saw and I love it. I was worried it was going to be cheap. No way. It's light weight and powerful.
  • Comfortable in hand, well balanced and reasonable weight. Looking for other Milwaukee tools now.
  • Got it at Lowes, because I wanted to pick one out by hand. It is a beast of a saw, light weight, comfortable in hand, and it tilts for the best grip at what ever depth you are at.
  • After taking it out of the box on a deck renovation, the first thing I noticed is the large-size and relative light weight of this saw.
  • The base is flat and promises to stay that way, and the saw is light weight. I have had no problems with it whatever.
Makita 5007MG Magnesium Circular Saw
  • Light weight but solid - That first cut amazed me - was like cutting through butter
  • I have used it on my framing crew for the past 2 weeks and it has great weight distribution and the perfect amount of power.
  • The ergonomics of this saw make it very well balanced with hand placements in just the right area.
  • Great makita saw plenty of power easy to use light weight would definitely recommend
  • Love this saw. Easy to handle, just enough weight to kept it balanced.

What customers say about "Cutting"
Milwaukee 6390-21
  • Milwaukee is an old name in tools, thats a good thing and it cuts very well with a good blade, carbide tipped we are using. It easy to follow the line we made with our speed square and keep every straight. It is a little hevy on the hands, so my grandsons do the cutting for me
  • The blade is very easy to see from either side. No brake but they're kinda overrated and pointless really
  • Saw rips and crosscuts very well in 3/4" treated exterior ply, quarter-sawn douglas fir and pine. Edges were true with a reasonably smooth finish from the supplied blade.
  • Great saw and power. I was surprised how much I would like the Tilt-Lok and how easy it was to adjust it. Easy adjustment of the handle, bevel, and cutting depth. The out-port of the saw dust is nice.
  • This saw has plenty of power. The quick release height and bevel adjustments are great.
Makita 5007MG Magnesium Circular Saw
  • Good brand name but not as durable as the cheaper Makita saw. I like it for the 56 degree bevel cut
  • Only flaw would be is it could use more bevel numbers on the front
  • I like the 45 degree bevel stop, great feature for production framing not so much for the casual user.
  • All adjustments work smooth, the depth and bevel. It cuts great with as much power as I can remember in any 7 1/4" circ. saw.
  • This saw is very useful and easy to use! I agree with some of the critics that the blade guard doesn't retract properly when cutting with the blade at angles (blade rotated to the left).

What customers say about "Features"
Milwaukee 6390-21
  • The bevel scale is accurate, so once you calibrate it you can set bevels with confidence (insofar as the design of the shoe allows anyway). The tilt lock is helpful when sawing a vertical surface.
  • The most remarkable feature is the Tilt-Lok. I wasn't sure how often I would use this when I first considered buying this model, but I find I use it often and really like it.
  • The tilt handle is a nice feature, i used it while cutting the pallets. I started with a stack of about 6 and cut my way down to the second one, adjusting the handle as i bent over to reach the next lower pallet.
  • Great saw! It has all the features needed for every type of construction, demolition and home use.
  • The Tilt-Loc grip/handle is a neat feature but I haven't had any use for it quite yet.
Makita 5007MG Magnesium Circular Saw
  • Auto stops on the most common bevels, easy to use adjustments all around. Used it to frame out a 16x20 storage building with 2x6's without any problems.
  • The Magnesium guard, and wonderful large visible numbers on the Bevel and depth adjuster make this saw the better buy for the money.
  • There is a light that shines over the blade when it is plugged in (nice feature). I have not left it plugged in for an extended time (several hours / days) but the light never turned off, not sure if it is supposed to but it should!
  • Tons of great features and the cutting guide is a huge bonus...no more getting clamps and a straight edge to just trim a door down!! I owned the predecessor for over 30 years as well!
  • The features are well thought out...easy to adjust and easy to get precision in my cuts!
