About the Product
With the new Rebar, Leatherman fans will immediately recognize the iconic box-like shape found in Tim Leatherman's original PST design. The Rebar pliers have been optimized for strength and feature replaceable wire/hard-wire cutters—a first for a four-inch tool from Leatherman.
The Wave features tools that are accessible while the tool is in its folded or closed position, mimicking the functionality of a pocket knife. It also offers all locking features which means that every tool and knife on the body of the handle, with the exception of the plier head, will lock into place. In addition, every feature on the Wave can be opened and operated with one hand.

What customers say about "Size & Weight"
Leatherman Rebar MultiTool (831551)
  • This is the lightest of Leatherman's full-size tools. Can comfortably rest in a pocket or on your belt, while still having most tools you'll need, plus one of the best plier heads in the multitool world.
  • The thing that strikes me about this tool as being really nice is that everything is the right size... the blades, screw drivers, and pliers simply work.
  • Very pocketable tool.. definitely closer to the size but has far more functionality of the original 90s Letterman..
  • What I liked was the light weight and pocket size, and still keep it for travel to places where locking blades are not street legal, but I moved on.
  • Perfect size for everyday, a good tool to actually carry everywhere. Has all the most needed tools that might be needed. Have carried one of the older tools for years, wanted one that had locking tools.
Leatherman Wave Multitool (830038)
  • It's a very reasonable weight, too, not as heavy as some I've had in the past, despite having a great selection of blades.
  • Once it arrived, and I could finally call it my own, a weight lifted off of my shoulders.
  • Definitely worth the investment over a cheap multi-tool. It is heavy (I am a backpacker) but usually quite worth the extra weight.
  • Nice design, nice weight, nice build quality. This model has the tools I would be likely to use if I were in the great outdoors.
  • I love the size. It's not too big and not too small.

What customers say about "Features"
Leatherman Rebar MultiTool (831551)
  • So far I really like it. It is very well made, no play in it, and has razor sharp blades. It's a handy tool.
  • It has been fantastic. I have one I wear daily and one I wear on the weekend (to get greasy and nasty) and both have held up extremely well with no issues at all.
  • Working as a Biomed Tech in dialysis clinics, this tool is actually a mini toolbox. Along with the bit attachments it has proved itself to be worth far more than what I paid.
  • the engraving is somewhat shallow and the black paint or ink used for contrast has worn off making it difficult to see. It would've been nice if the engraving were just alittle deeper like the "Leatherman rebar" engraving/stamping on the opposite side.
  • This is a great DIY mult -tool but when you get it in the the new black color the black comes off like oil I appreciate if it didn't do that but the more you work with the great multi-tool the black oil stops
  • I love the more secure locking of the blade and tools, but the lack of a pocket clip restricts the tool to my toolbag (I dislike holsters on my hip)
Leatherman Wave Multitool (830038)
  • Decided to upgrade and I'm SUPER pleased with the features, weight and it will last me a very long time. I've decided to buy another one to leave in the car.
  • The locking blades feature alone is a good reason to get one!
  • Best multi-tool I ever bought. It is sturdy, the blades are sharp, and it has useful stuff unlike some of the other tools with features nobody would ever use.
  • My husband was impressed with the features and quality of this model.
  • The Wave has all the tools I need for around the house and especially for fishing. It is well constructed and the one-handed knife open feature is great.
