About the Product
The new Seiko Prospex Diver SBDC051 is based on the design of the 1965 original Seiko 62Mas (ref. 6217) dive watch, but it has been up-dated in functions and performance to a thoroughly modern dive watch.
The watch is designed and manufactured to withstand up to 200m going under the water, and is suitable for wearing while scuba diving. The crown has screw-down protection to prevent it from being pulled out by any accidental operation as the water resistance function is secured only when the crown is at its normal position.

  • The build quality is on par with a 3K Omega.
  • The first thing that actually caught my eye on the Prospex was…the bracelet! It looked substantial and solid – a bit like a Rolex Oyster bracelet crossed with an Omega bracelet.
  • This is heavy duty. On the wrist, the Seiko bracelet feels both elegant and rugged. The brushed steel looks great and versatile.
  • The gorgeous domed crystal reveals a rich matte black dial that plays nicely in the light.
  • The crystal is slightly domed with an antireflective coating on the inside. There’s not much to say here other than it looks great and it should stay that way since it’s a sapphire crystal, not Seikos cheaper Hardlex Mineral.

  • The size of this is perfect, has a good wrist presence without being overly large. Super satisfied with this.

  • The large hands and markers look bold and luxurious and I can tell you that the lume is amazing. The whole package is really beautiful…and impressive.
  • The wrist presence and feel are awesome – the bracelet is fantastic. The movement is not too sophisticated, but it is performing beyond expectations.
  • The SPB051 features stainless-steel construction with Seiko’s DiaShield coating on the bracelet and case for enhanced scratch resistance.
