You'll have to occasionally hitch the fasteners that fix the handle to the magnet.

OUR VERDICT

Husky 96397 is an awesome fit for busy workshops. That said, this little contraption is also great for keeping your house, backyard, and the whole premises free from screws, nails, and other metal objects. The magnet is plenty strong and the whole thing is efficient and practical.

OUR VERDICT

Master Magnetics MSD-3153700 quickly pays for itself. The side-mounted wheels, equipped with steel bushings and robust rubber treads, make this magnetic push broom equally maneuverable indoors or out. All in all, a great option for homeowners, contractors, and small-time mechanics.

The wheels wear off after some time, becoming less maneuverable.

OUR VERDICT

GRIP 53417 is a particularly versatile and flexible magnetic sweeper that a lot of people could benefit from. The small frame and hang loop make it really easy to store the tool. But, despite the said frame, the model is just as effective as the rest of these sweepers.

No Working Area Presents a Challenge

These pickup tools with magnets do not differ that much from each other. That said, as it is always the case, some are still better and some are worse. Neiko 53418A belongs to the former group. In fact, it is easily one of the better magnetic floor sweepers on the market right now.

For one, with a magnetic working area of 36" (length) by 4" (width), this thing won't just be a good pick for professional workshops but also for industrial premises and construction sites. On top of that, it is able to carry a maximum load of 30 pounds, quite a lot more than any other sweeper we've come across.

Other than that, it isn't that different from the rest of its peers. Equipped with a rubberized grip on the wheels, the model allows you to effortlessly maneuver over all kinds of surfaces, rolling as smoothly on hardwood floors and concrete as it does on carpets and grass. The finger grooved handle gives you a comfortable grip, all while reducing any long-term or short-term hand fatigue. The usual height-adjustable handle here extends all the way up to 42 inches, so you won't have to bend and strain your back. It isn't devoid of the quick-release hatch and a hanging loop that most of these tools come equipped with.

Again, Neiko 53418A might very well be the best magnetic sweeper on the market right now. It isn't just a great model for people who dabble in roofing or for professional tradesmen with a sizable workshop. No, this is just as well a suitable tool for industrial needs and large construction sites, any sizable premises that you need to keep clean from metal debris.

No Workshop is Busy Enough

Like we said earlier, the model from Neiko covers just about any area. But, even for a sizable workshop, it may be a bit of an overkill. Husky 96397, on the other hand, might just be the perfect fit. At the end of the day, with these tools, it is mostly about their maximum working area and load.

Here, we have 18 inches by 3 inches in the former category and 20 pounds in the latter one. Needless to say, numbers like that mean the model will allow you to swipe the floors clean in no time at all.

Equipped with massive 7-inch wheels, this thing will glide over your lawn, gravel, or dirt as gracefully as it will roll around concrete or tile floors. The only complaint we have in this department is that the said wheels are a little loud but that's to be expected given their strong build and sizable frame.

Considering the aforementioned max load, you'll be able to pick up quite a lot of different metal objects at a time. Fortunately, removing all of them won't prove much of a challenge. Fitted with a quick-release mechanism, the tool lets you discard all of the items that you pick up along the way for that sweet no-fuss disposal that people have come to expect out of these sweepers.

Long story short, Husky 96397 is easily one of the best magnetic sweepers for busy workshops. That said, it is just as good of a tool for keeping your house, backyard, and the whole premises clean from screws, nails, and other metal objects. The magnet is plenty strong and the whole construction is efficient and practical.

Lightweight Aluminum Broom

Master Magnetics MSD-3153700 leaves a bit of a mixed impression. On one hand, it is a really convenient and mostly practical tool. Thanks to the lightweight construction and a relatively thin frame, you'll be able to easily push or pull it under furniture, across shop floors, driveways, dirt, grass, gravel, just about any surface, really.

On the other hand, the handle is not height-adjustable. Sure, being 41 inches long, it will be a good fit for most people, long enough to reach some of the more difficult areas and to wield it without bending your back but not too long to make the whole thing inconvenient and inefficient. But it would be nice if you could adjust the length for a customized fit.

The somewhat limited maximum load is another problem we have with this magnetic nail sweeper. Unable to properly hold more than 2 pounds of weight, it isn't the most suitable option for busy workshops with a heavy workflow/workload. That said, it is definitely a great product for homeowners, contractors, and those mechanics that aren't stuck in a particularly busy shop.

But we can't say that we have a problem with the model's construction. The aluminum housing is particularly resistant to rust and corrosion, so it will look as good as new after years of faithful service. Plus, the powerful neodymium magnet with a 30-pound pull is equally effective outdoors and indoors.

All in all, Master Magnetics MSD-3153700 quickly pays for itself. The side-mounted wheels, equipped with steel bushings and robust rubber treads, make this magnetic push broom equally maneuverable indoors or out.

Sweeps Your Metal Troubles Away

One thing we really like in our tools is a customized fit. At the end of the day, every person is different, with a different frame, stature, wingspan, and so on. With that in mind, adding GRIP 53417 to our list was a no-brainer.

For the most part, it is all about the height-adjustable handle. Sure, most of these sweepers are fitted with a handle like that. But very few offer the same range. You can retract this thing all the way down to 23 inches or extend up to 40 inches, making it equally suitable for short and tall individuals.

Apart from the telescopic handle, not much about this product is different from the rest of these sweepers. Compared to most models with a similar price tag, GRIP 53417, with its 17.5-inch working area, significantly cuts cleanup time. With just an inch in width, it isn't as good at picking up larger objects than some of its larger counterparts. But it does make the tool more suitable for roofing, which is always a plus for contractors.

The 3-inch rubber wheels allow easy clearance that you need for gravel surfaces, though they really aren't anything we haven't seen before.

Bottom line, GRIP 53417 is a particularly versatile and flexible magnetic sweeper that a lot of people could benefit from. The small frame and hang loop make it really easy to store the tool. But, despite the said frame, the model is just as effective as the rest of these sweepers.

No Swarf Stands a Chance

Not every piece of metal is made the same. Nuts, bolts, tackles, nails, they're all different, so you won't always be able to pick all of them up on the first try. Well, with an inferior model, you won't be. With Empire Level 27059, it will be but a breeze.

One little thing that makes this model different from the bulk of its competition and the detail that has convinced us to add this product to our review is the angle-adjustable magnetic head. As you'd imagine, this little detail will make it a lot easier to pick up some of the more stubborn pieces of metal debris. On top of that, it will allow you to reach more difficult spaces, like under the furniture or around the benches.

Setting that aside, Empire Level 27059 doesn't really trail behind its competition in any other category. The height adjustable handle extends from 25 inches to 40, so it doesn't discriminate between people of different statures. The handle incorporates a nice little non-slip grip, making the tool equally practical and comfortable.

With 3.6 x 13.8 x 27.2 inches in overall dimensions and the weight of about 2 pounds, it isn't the most sizable or heavy tool. Add to that a nice little hang loop that comes with it and you shouldn't run into any storage issues.

In conclusion, Empire Level 27059 is a magnetic sweeper that doesn't leave a single piece of metal debris a chance. Regardless of its size, the surface, or where it's been able to hide so far, the model will get to it without inconveniencing you along the way. With this sweeper, you'll be able to keep the space clean and safe.
