Fisherman's Friend Cough Drops are not gentle. These are not the drops you purchase when you have mild symptoms and want to reduce them. These are the drops you purchase when you'd like to make sure the symptoms will stand no chance.

Deliciously Soothing Relief

Luden's Wild Cherry Cough Drops are perhaps the best tasting soothing relief for a throat you can find. In fact, many people admit that they find it quite hard not to go through the whole pack at one whack, especially given the fact that pectin which is included in its content is not harmful at all. On the flip side of the coin, the pack contains only 25 drops and to some, this amount might seem rather small. That being said, you get not one but 12 resealable bags of drops, 25 count each, which should be sufficient to last for a while.

Luden's Wild Cherry Cough Drops are not only about the great taste though. In addition to the divine cherry flavor, these drops promise virtually instant soothing effect, relieving scratchy, irritated and sore throats virtually seconds after a drop's dissolved in your mouth. What's more, since they do not contain menthol as typical cough drops do, they can serve as an aid in treating your vocal cords and soothing dry throat on a daily basis.

Generally, these drops are not harmful and can be safely used by children aged 3 and older. In some cases, they can even be given to children under 3 years of age, but before giving it to your kid, consultation with a physician will be necessary.

In the end, if you don't like the strong sensation that you get with menthol cough drops and you seek an effective relief for dry throat symptoms, Luden's Wild Cherry Cough Drops are definitely one of the best drops around.

Refreshing and Delicious but also Effective

Halls Honey Lemon Cough Drops will be relieving sore, scratchy throats from colds or allergies. These drops are formulated to soothe sore throats but will also be cooling nasal passages, relieving the worst symptoms and making you feel better without consuming drugs.

Sometimes, cough suppressants can be pretty nasty. These honey lemon drops are anything but nasty, with the menthol and eucalyptus oil fighting coughs, glucose syrup making them sweet, and honey lemon flavor soothing and refreshing you. We're not saying that these drops will cure you and make the symptoms go away but, when you use them as complementary means to allergy medication throughout the allergy season, even when you're around pollen, grass, and trees, the coughs will not be as irritating and the throat will not feel scratchy and sore.

The drops contain soy, that's something that certain customers might not appreciate but, besides that, we can recommend this huge, 180-drop package to most people. You can have one drop every 2 hours but no more than 10 drops per day. Children five years old and above can have these drops too. When the entire family suffers from allergies, you can go with the 360-drop pack that includes 12 bags of 30 drops.

Not the Friendliest Friend

Fisherman's Friend Cough Drops are strong, they (the people behind these lozenges) pride themselves on the drops' strength. Supposedly, the formula has not seen any changes since 1865, which is one of those rare situations when you actually want something to not change for 150 years. Even the name's there because these drops were originally developed to give sailors heading into the cold, stormy North Atlantic waters during winter.

Meanwhile, the strength comes from the highest menthol dosage per one lozenge that the FDA allows, making these drops potent enough to dish that knockout punch to the toughest cough and cold symptoms. Crammed with so much menthol, some might find the drops not that friendly and even somewhat bitter. But you do not buy Fisherman's Friend for the flavor, you buy them to eliminate symptoms.

They're so strong that you'll have to consult a physician before giving these tablets to children. The dose is not fixed, so you'll have to adjust according to the condition/disease. The dose will also change depending on the patient's age.

In other words, when you want to make sure that your voice is strong and the throat is soothed no matter what, Fisherman's Friend Cough Drops is what you ought to stick with.

Choose Your Cure

Honees Honey Lemon Cough Drops are formulated using that classic, soothing combination mixing lemon with menthol. Well, to be more precise, what we have here is two bags, one with 20 drops that are formulated with honey, menthol, and eucalyptus and the second one with as many drops containing honey, lemon, and menthol. Without lemon and with eucalyptus, the drops from the first bag are pretty soft and mild, while the second bag is packing drops with more zest and punch. They're both pretty good at soothing sore throats though thanks to pure honey inside the formula.

The drops will be relieving coughs and cooling nasal passages. They're jam-packed with Vitamins C, B6, and B12, so these drops will do more than relieve the aforementioned symptoms, from making the skin more elastic to improving the mood.

All that being said, the drops will sometimes melt and stick to the wrapping when subjected to hot temperature conditions, so we would not suggest bringing the entire pack with you when you're going outside during summer.

You can have as many drops as you want (within reason) depending on the conditions but we'd not recommend having more than 10 drops per day. Aside from that, we can recommend these massive, gluten-free drops to most people above 5 years old suffering from allergies and cold symptoms.

Natural is the Way to Go

Herbion Naturals Cough Drops are formulated with medicinal herbs’ extracts, the extracts that people have been using for centuries to relieve sore throats, reducing coughing, and minimize bronchial irritation. These extracts come from stevia, hyssop, licorice root, eucalyptus leaf oil, Malabar nut tree leaf, greater galangal rhizome, licorice, large-leaf Geiger tree fruit, long pepper fruit, and, of course, menthol. There are also natural orange flavor additives to make the drops taste sweet.

The drops are sugar-free and non-sedative. Aside from the pleasant taste, these tablets are loaded with antioxidants that will be supporting the immune system. What's more, the formula's gluten-free, formulated without nuts and artificial flavors. You can give these vegan drops even to children above 2 years old. The drops are quite small though, so make sure the kid does not choke on them. Intake-wise, drop one drop (pun intended) in your mouth and let it dissolve without rushing the process. You can repeat every couple of hours as necessary or as directed by your physician.

To sum up, Herbion Naturals Cough Drops will be able to accommodate all customers with sore throat issues, age, different dietary restrictions, and whatnot.

What Is a Cough Drop?

A cough drop is more or less an umbrella term for small, often medicated tablets. Also referred to as throat lozenges (due to their diamond shape), these little sweets slowly dissolve in your mouth. When made and used right, they're able to temporarily stop coughs, lubricate, and soothe the irritated tissues of your throat. Naturally, that sore throat will be the symptom of influenza or the common cold nine times out of ten.

Different companies make their drops with different ingredients. Some add a little glucose syrup to make them taste good. Others don't bother with that and pack their products exclusively with stuff like guaifenesin or Oscillococcinum (the main ingredient of which is Anas Barbariae).

Aside from active ingredients, the biggest difference between cough drops is their target audience. Some of these things are perfectly suitable for children above the age of 2, while other drops are made strictly for people no younger than 12 years old. So make sure to keep that in mind, follow the instructions, and you should be able to stop any flu-like symptom before the disease spreads its ugly wings.

Now, while we're still on the subject of preventive healthcare, we would also recommend our reviews of first aid kits and automatic pill dispensers.
